January 2014 Makeup Favourites

It’s a few days late (6 to be exact) but better late than never as they say!
I’ve been using these pretty much every day through January so they definitely step up to the mark!
becca rejuvenating primer
Becca Rejuvenating Primer is one of the best primers I’ve used. It just feels like a hydrating moisturizer, and my foundation literally glides on. You can pick it up here
estee lauder double wear
I’ve been using Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation for a few weeks now, and can I just say? I totally get the hype! Truly full coverage, bulletproof yet natural looking. Full review is in motion! I strongly recommend getting colour matched but if you know you shade, it’s available here
Gemma's Wedding 102
Another Becca product (and there’s another to come!) this time it’s the fine loose powder, it’s natural looking and feels like real silky skin. On the Becca website they say… “The initial, slightly matte finish will only last half an hour, by then the natural oils in the skin begin to surface and the powder will have a perfectly undetectable finish” I completely agree with this statement! You can get some shades for a absolute bargain £5.99 (rrp £30!!) here but I’d be quick, they’ve been selling out on shades super fast.
elf studio blusher
I rediscovered an old fave this month, you can see how much I love it by the amount of pan showing! ELF’s Studio blush in Tickled pink, it’s such a pretty shade for my skin tone (light) and has fantastic pigment. Available here they always have offers on so keep an eye out for those!
bobbi brown shimmer brick
I’ve recently done a review this one, Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick which you can read here if you like. I’ve been using this as a highlight on my cheekbones. It’s lovely!
miss manga
L’oreal’s Miss Manga mascara is a favourite that has surprised me! I thought I was loving Benefit’s Bad Gal but when it came to choosing my favourites I realised I’ve been picking up Miss Manga every morning for the last two weeks! I want my favourites to be reflective of what I’ve actually used so well done L’oreal, you surprised me! Available here
becca line and define
Here’s the last Becca product! It’s the Line and Define eye pencil in Santorini which is a gorgeous royal blue one end and a flesh tone the other. The navy is much softer on the eyes than black. You can get it here for a bargain £3.99, I love this website!
the balm nude tude palette
Last but by no means least.. The Balm’s Nude ‘tude palette. I’m planning a full review and swatches so keep your eye out 🙂 I’ve used this pretty much everyday this month, so soft and so pigmented, it’s a definite winner! Available here
What have been your favourites for January?
Thanks for reading guys!

L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

The new L’Oreal mascara review.
We’re being treated with all these new products on the shelves!
I picked this up in my local Superdrug for the introductory offer of £5.99. Bargain! You can get it here it also comes in Pop Turquoise and Tropical Violet.
L’Oreal say.
Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara creates mega volume on top and bottom so eyes look more open.
Our exclusive formula, made up of enlarging collagen spheres works perfectly in conjunction with the 360° flexible cone shaped brush to amplify upper lashes and reveal lower lashes.
The exclusive formula also contains a trilogy of polymers for absolute hold and staying power.
I say.
I really like this mascara! I do have to say though that when I opened the tube (which took forever, I had two layers of that horrible plastic stuff to get through!) the brush didn’t look great and the first strokes just looked like a clumpy mess.
I persevered though and I ended up with lots of length, volume and a definite ‘wide eyed’ look!
One problem I seem to get with a lot of mascaras is that when I get good volume it weighs down my lashes and I often end up having to sacrifice length for volume. I didn’t get that with Miss Manga, after the initial mess with more strokes it spread out and I had fairly defined long thick lashes, every girls dream 🙂
The wand is one of those fandangaled bendy ones like the Mega Plush from Maybelline, so if you didn’t like that wand, chances are you won’t like this one.
After 8 hours wear I still had curled long lashes with no smudges. I do recommend this and this will be a daily use. Will it take over my Benefit Bad Gal? I don’t think so, there’s a special place in my heart for that one! But I can see myself picking this one up a lot!
Thanks for reading, have you brought this mascara? What did you think?

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil and Brow Drama Brow Mascara

New Maybelline Brow Products Review.
Hi guys, today I’m posting about two new Maybelline Products, the Master Shape brow pencil and the Brow Drama mascara.
I was actually shopping for my sister’s baby shower but I just can’t resist the makeup aisles!
I’m always on the lookout for good brow products as I really believe good brows make a face! If I could only do three things to my face a day it would be, foundation, brows and mascara!
So onto the products..
The pencil – It’s creamy and goes on smoothly. The colour I picked up was soft brown and it only comes in one other colour, dark blonde. I think there should be more shades as it limits who can happily use one. I love the little brow comb, it’s nice to have it right on hand and great for travel.
Sadly it’s just a bit too creamy so it takes a while to build up the colour. It would be impossible to cross the line between defined brows and OTT brows! I will probably use this pencil when I want a softly defined brow but I doubt it’ll make the cut to regular use.
I would maybe recommend this to someone starting out in makeup as you can easily rub away any mistakes and the colour isn’t that strong.
Now onto the brow mascara..
I’ve never seen a brow brush like this and didn’t think I’d like it.. I do! It was easy to use and nicely defined my brows depositing a good amount of colour to enhance them. I got mine in medium brown and it come in two other colours, deep blonde and dark brown.
All in all, although I like the brow mascara, especially the brush! I don’t think I’ll repurchase either as they didn’t impress me enough. I think the next brow purchase will be the new Benefit brow mascara.
Uh, I think I’ve just realized I’m obsessed with brow products :/ I have a drawer full of them! Oh well that’s not a bad thing for us makeup enthusiasts. Right?!?
Thanks for reading!

Benefit Bad Gal Mascara Review

For the bad in me…
Oh how I’m glad I found you Bad gal, you made my mascara dreams come true!
Hello my friends, I wanted to tell you about one of my favorite Christmas presents from my boyfriend, I asked for some Benefit makeup and being the wonder he is, lo and behold, Benefit pressies for me 🙂
This is what they say…
Sexy, sultry, pure unadulterated black mascara for full, voluminous lashes. It’s as BAD as you want to be! Famously big, bodacious brush coats lashes with our super black formula.
What I say…
This mascara has taken over my Revlon ‘grow luscious’ for the daily wear number one spot. Here’s why…
Lovely brush, I’ve found it pretty easy to manure, no eye poking incidents!
Nice deep black pigment.
The curl lasts all day until I take my makeup off, so usual wear is 11 hours for me.
I haven’t found it to get flaky, even if I need to add more for a day to night look.
Separates my lashes beautifully.
It removes nicely (I do cleanse with jojoba oil which makes it much easier taking of mascara anyway)
I have found it to take longer to build the volume I want than my Revlon does.
Does smudge ever so slightly. I do wear my eye liner quite smokey though so this isn’t much of a problem for me, however this might be a problem for others so it’s worth considering.
I do feel though, that the curl lasting longer makes up for it taking  a bit more effort to get some volume.
How I apply…
I start by curling my lashes then I apply one coat to my top and bottom lashes on one eye then I move to the other eye and do the same, for more volume I just go back and forth to each eye until I’m happy!
Do I recommend this mascara?
Yes, at £17.50 it’s slightly more expensive than drugstore but depending on which brand you buy you could be looking at only a couple of pounds more.
Here’s where you can purchase from http://www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk/product/view/badgal-lash-mascara
Thanks for reading 🙂 Any comments? You know what to do 😉
